The customer had seen a table he liked elsewhere online but it was only available in a very limited range of sizes.
He approached us about making it in the size he needed – we explained it wouldn’t be identical as we don’t make replicas of other people’s designs, but we could certainly create a table with a similar mid-century modern look.
He was pleased with the suggested design and we made the table and bench in solid oak with round beech legs. The key design elements were the bevelled edges on the tops and the thin legs, angled for stability.
Despite being made of a different wood, the legs matched the top well, especially when both had been coated in a protective layer of clear hardwax oil.
