What types of made to order tables can you find at Tablemaker?
We build solid oak dining tables, desks, and coffee tables that are measured to fit and made for daily use. Each piece is built in our London workshop using full stave hardwood, precision joinery, and durable finishes. Whether you are furnishing a dining room table area, fitting out a workspace, or looking for a compact side table for a smaller space, we have standard designs and fully custom options that cover both style and practical needs.
Oak Dining Tables
Solid oak dining tables are our most requested items. These are made using long plank oak boards joined edge to edge for strength and stability. We use mortise and tenon or pocket hole joinery for leg frames depending on the design. Every table is finished with hardwax oil to protect the wood and keep the natural grain visible.
Tables are made to exact measurements. That means if you need a 145-centimetre dining table to seat six with the right amount of clearance, that is what we build. Edge profiles can be square, rounded, or chamfered depending on the design. Whether you need a solid wood desk top or a custom wood table top, we tailor it to your requirements.

Oak Desks
Our desks are made to support regular use, whether in a home office desk setup or a commercial environment. Tops are solid oak desk tops as standard and can be made with added features like cable notches, radiused corners, or pre-drilled holes for sit-stand frames. We regularly supply desk tops for Flexispot, Ikea, and Fully frames.
If you are buying a desk top wood only, we can advise on size and bracket placement. All desks are finished in either clear oil or tinted oil depending on your preference.

Oak Coffee and Side Tables
These side tables are smaller but built to the same standard. Popular options include square or round coffee tables, lower height legs, and simpler profiles. We use oak or ash or birch ply depending on the look you want. These coffee tables suit living rooms, offices, and bedrooms where a bit of function and solid material is preferred over veneer or MDF.

What ready made tables can you order?
If you want something ready to go, we offer a fixed range of designs that can be ordered in standard sizes with your chosen finish:
ATO 55: Square legs, can be used as a dining table or desk
Element 57: Balanced leg layout, fits a range of interiors
Record 65, Box 85, Stadium 300: Oak tables with bold bases
Radius 70 and Wing 200: Tables with softer shapes and curved detail
Industry 68 and Taper 2: Office desks with solid wood or powder coated steel legs
Surface 25, Canopy 12, Dowel 50: Small oak side tables, made to fit tight spaces
Each piece can be made to your preferred length, width and height before checkout. These are built to order, not held in stock.
What if you need a table built to a specific spec?
We regularly take orders for custom size tables or one-off bespoke tables. If you need a desk to fit a specific room, or a dining table to match another piece, we can make it to your requirements.
Adjust a Current Table Design
We can change the dimensions, top thickness, leg placement, or finish on any of our existing designs. This works well for people who like a particular style but need a size we do not list. Whether it’s a solid wood desk top or a custom wood table top, we can tailor it to your needs.
Commission a Full Custom Build
You can send a drawing, sketch, or list of dimensions and we will quote to make it from scratch. That includes choosing the leg design, edge profile, timber type, and finish. We will confirm build method, lead time, and delivery.

Woods and finishes
What woods and finishes are available?
Oak is the standard
We use solid European oak for most of our tables and desks. It is long lasting, has a strong grain pattern and holds up well to repeat use. Oak can be sanded back and refinished over time which gives it an extended life.
Other woods we use
Ash, beech, pine, walnut and birch ply are also available. These can suit different budgets or match a specific look. Ash has a lighter tone and more visible grain. Beech is smooth and pale. Birch ply is strong with a clear edge and is good for smaller tables or tighter price points.
Finishing choices
We use hardwax oil for its durability and ease of repair. It comes in clear or pigmented tones. We also offer food safe oil for café tables or kitchen use. All finishes are low VOC and easy to maintain with oil refreshers or gentle cleaning products.

Because our tables are made to your specifications, they are not eligible for return unless faulty. We always send order confirmations with measurements and options for your approval before we start, so make sure to check everything carefully.
